Colorful Whimsical Branding Photography for Luna Cycle Ice Cream in Lancaster, PA

When Melissa of Luna Cycle Ice Cream Tricycle reached out to me about doing some branding photography for her new business and said she was looking for photos that were "casual, fun and maybe a little whimsical" I was immediately on board. Our family is a huge fan of ice cream and we are always happy to support local businesses so I was thrilled to learn about her new venture.

After she sent me some photos of her ice cream tricycle with the purple logo and umbrella, I knew I had the perfect spot in mind for her branding photo session. First we took some photos at a local park in Lancaster City (Musser Park), and then we went to the colorful geometric mural by Two Dudes Painting for some photos of her with her trike and product photos of the delicious ice cream sandwiches and push pops she makes. 

Because it was a warm spring day we had to work quickly before the ice cream melted. She had it well packed into a freezer insulated bag. I was so thankful she had her husband along to help get the trike in and out of their mini van since we had to transport it between the two different locations in Lancaster City.

No ice cream treats are complete without sprinkles so of course we had to get some photos with massive amounts of rainbow sprinkles being dropped on top of her homemade ice cream sandwiches. Her daughter was delighted to have a taste before they all melted at the end of the photo session.

Lancaster Branding Photography for Mindful Movements with Erin

One of the things I love about my job as a Lancaster portrait photographer is the people I get to meet. I met Erin when I took her son's newborn photos a little less than 2 years ago and I knew we could be friends as soon as I saw all the amazing plants she had in her house! We reconnected when I learned she was opening her own fitness studio called Mindful Movements with Erin and needed some professional photos of her new space. 

As I learned more about her holistic approach to fitness coaching and passion for women's health, especially with pregnant and postpartum moms, I realized I could really benefit from her services myself! I've been a client for a few months now and I have learned so much; from breath work to properly engaging my core to deadlifting and feeling stronger than I thought was possible at age 42! She is so personable and with her background is social work she has a way of making you truly feel heard and seen.

Her studio space is painted in a calming shade of green and the various house plants scattered throughout the corners and vining up the walls make it feel fresh and alive. Though it is a small space, she has it set up in a way that there is plenty of room to move.  All of the exercises I have learned from Erin can be done at home or adapted to my home space which is important for a stay-at-home mom like myself. 

For her branding photos, I wanted to get a variety of images showing her working one-on-one with clients so she brought in volunteers and did assessments for them while I took pictures. Through a variety of angles and perspectives I captured the way she uses her space both for exercise and client interaction and as an office. I also tried to capture some close up images of equipment and design elements of her studio as well as some personality portraits of Erin in the space. The photo of her with the pelvis is my personal favorite.

One of my goals for this year is to do more collaborations with small local businesses & creatives here in Lancaster, PA (open to Lititz, Ephrata, Lebanon, York & Hershey areas too!).
